ほうもん【砲門】

1 〔砲口〕 the muzzle of a gun.

●臼砲が砲門を開いた. The mortars opened up [fire].

・一斉に砲門を開いた. All the guns opened fire simultaneously.

・各艦は全砲門を開いて砲撃中. The ships are firing now with all their armament.

2 〔砲眼〕 (軍艦の) a porthole; a gunport; (城壁の) an embrasure.
